UnrealFrontend, UE4Game_exe and other files missing, can't package game

When I try to package my game I get nothing. I read somewhere that you must have these files in order to package a game - UnrealFrontend, UE4Game_exe, UE4Game_Shipping_32.exe. I seem to be missing these files. Can someone please show me some guidance.

P.S.I have Visual Studio 2013 installed in case I need that for any reason.

Hi Yaw-Way,

Have you been able to read our documentation on packaging? Packaging Unreal Engine Projects | Unreal Engine 5.1 Documentation

The files you mentioned should be by default in your “C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.1\Engine\Binaries\Win64” folder with the exception of the UE4Game_Shipping_32.exe which will be in the Win32 folder instead of Win64. You shouldn’t have to mess with these files though and if they are indeed missing then please verify your install to get them back.

Thanks Maximus. Though I shouldn’t have to mess with them, aren’t those files needed for a game packaging to be doable?

They are indeed! If they are gone, you can go to the launcher and under the launch button there should be a “Verify Install” you can click that will place them back there.

What if we are using UE4 built from source? I can build from source without issues, but I have no UnrealFrontend at all. I know exactly where it is supposed to be, it’s just not there.

Hello,
