Games need to capture the mouse inside their window

In every Unreal Engine game (including unreal tournament) on Linux (i have not tested this on windows) the mouse is not captured inside the game window, that means, if i make a fast movement and/or there’s a framerate drop, the mouse cursor goes outside the game window, making the game lose focus.
This is extremely frustrating, especially in multi-monitor configuration (where you have space on the left and right of the fullscreen game window), and it renders every unreal engine based game completely unplayable and frustrating, especially in multiplayer, i’ve seen this across several games for a long time, other games/engines are not affected by this.
