Screen Space Reflection doesn't work on Translucent Material

Screen Space Reflection doesn’t work on Translucent Material. But works on opaque material. Surface with Translucent Material is just black. Surface with opaque material reflect sky.

Everything is the same in “Reflection” render mode:

Here’s material settings:

Graphic settings are “Epic”
Project is new

Hi VinnyBlood, check out my answer to a similar question here: Mix 2 types of materials / reflexion on translucent - Rendering - Epic Developer Community Forums

I believe it will solve your problem.

Still doesn’t work with ‘Surface PerPixel’ lighting

Hmm, it works for me. Can you upload an example of it not working, or share screenshots of all of your settings?

Hi VinnyBlood,

Surface Transluceny Volume does not work with Screen Space Reflection, in which case you would want to make sure you use the Surface PerPixel option since that will use screen space reflections, but it is experimental so you will need to use a the console command r.ForwardLightin 1 which is mentioned in the tooltip for this setting to be enabled.

After you enable that you will be able to see screen space reflections on your translucent materials.

I hope this helps.

Tim

I don’t know how, but SSR just start works in new project in 4.11 preview 3. So it works with console command “r.ForwardLightin 1” in my old project in 4.10.2

Thanks, it works for me)
