Copy Camera Tracks between Matinee Actors

I’m trying to copy Camera Animation Tracks between Matinee actors, to no avail. We’re working on an animation level in which one artist does the animation in Matinee and another artist does the Cameras. No we have to merge both together,

The only way i can think of is to export the camera animation and then import it to the other Matinee actor. Matinee has such limitations which will hopefully be solved with Sequencer.

First of all thanks for your quick answer! Unfortunately the Matinee FBX Export is broken since 4.1 — Why does a Matinee FBX Re-Import change the Coordinate / Curve Camera settings? - C++ - Epic Developer Community Forums

I don’t understand how people worked collaboratively with Matinee at all? I’m sure something like the Infiltrator demo wasn’t done by one person?

I’ve found another solution for you. Select the Matinee actor and your cameras > ctrl+c to copy > go to the other project > ctrl+v to paste in the level. Keep in mind that you’ll have to use the director track of the camera Matinee only and delete the other one’s as it will be used for other animations in the level.

Thanks! Although that doesn’t quite work for us, we need all animation inside one Matinee Actor. We’re working on a linear cutscene in which we animate most stuff inside Matinee. So we need to be able to scrub the timeline and have all animations change accordingly.

Thanks for the idea! We have about 100 cameras and we need an iterative workflow. We do appreciate your quick and helpful responses though! Keep it up

I see. Here’s another workaround then! In case you cant find a better solution. :stuck_out_tongue:

After doing the copy&paste, create new cameras for each camera you are using inside matinee and then attach those camera’s to your actual Matinee cameras. Now you can place those cameras in your other Matinee and either use it’s director track for the final animation or just use them for preview.
