Restoring An Autosave .json

I have some strange issue where the .uproject file has somehow reverted to a 2 month old version. It lacks content, blueprints and changes made to the level.

I have tried going to the autosave folder and copying over the contents and loading the .umap, which has the correct date, but it still does not load the correct, most recent version of the map.

It gives no error, just loads up correctly, but when it’s loaded it’s an outdated version.

There is a packagerestoredata.json file in there, which I guess would help.
But I haven’t found a way to use it yet.

I’m experiencing the exact same issue at this very moment, hoping for a fix, not sure if I neglected an important step while initially setting up my project, but I do not believe so, it all lives on an G-Raid hard drive that continuously mirrors itself, pretty flawless. And the project is named and the directory is clean/organized. Around the time when the project reverted I was adding content to the project from the Library in the Game Launcher, at first I thought I had by accident overwritten the files, but it does not seem so.

Any fixes for this?
Further insight?

I chose not to fix the problem, instead I just redid all the work. I had all the assets still and it was a question of reimporting, replacing and relighting, had to redo some blueprints tho, but since It’s a simple environment and not a game it was fine.

I have not found any fixes. You might get lucky and have some backup .umaps work in the autosave directory, but for me they were [redacted] as well. You could have some luck enabling .ue4 to make it able to read .json files through some .cfg editing

sorry.

Yeah, ran into the exact same thing. I’m going to just disable autosaves, and put in my own backup system.

I am having the same problem right now. Autosave was enabled but in the autosave file location there was only one umap file which was 2 days older and I lost all the progress. Any fix for this issue?
