Maya LT LOD Import Failed

I’ve been trying to export some assets with LOD’s from Maya LT into UE4, but it just says Import Failed without any explanation to why.

The LOD works fine within Maya LT. I’ve also been having crashes when trying to use LOD’s by manually importing them in to a mesh, so I’m not sure if LOD’s are just not working if I’m using Maya LT instead of Maya.

Update: I’ve also tried with simpler meshes, and it’s still not working. Is there an option I’m overlooking?

Update: Looks like I can go around this issue by manually importing LOD’s into the mesh, still wondering why the imports with LOD from Maya LT is failing though :o

Hi H_C_C -

Make sure on Import that you are selecting the Import Mesh LODs option checked true, by default it is set to false in the editor.

Hi Eric,

I definitely have that option checked and is receiving the same error. The only thing I can think of is perhaps there’s something I’m missing when exporting on Maya LT, but I’ve exported the LOD group in every combination I can think of at the moment.

I was hoping for an easy answer to help you out, but it looks like this is an actual issue and I was able to reproduce internal. I have placed a report for the issue as UE-25745 and will keep you informed as we investigate the solution.
