  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Unreal crashes when packaging for mac

I have a project i created. It packages without any issues for pc. When i take it into my mac however the project crashes when packaging. The only difference from the pc to mac version is the use of one video for a tv. On a pc it is a wmv and on the mac i've tried both mp4 and mov.

Product Version: UE 4.9

Hey MJSabates,

I have a few questions to ask before I can dig into this:

  • Is this happening on any project that you package?

  • Are you on 4.9.2?

  • Do you have any logs?

  • Have you attempted this on any other version of the engine?

  • Did you obtain the engine from the Epic Games Launcher or GitHub?

Please provide as much information as possible. Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

Hi Samantha. Thank you for responding.

This is the first project I've had to package for mac I am on 4.9.2 I have the crash log but it is a bit lengthy, not sure if there is a better alternative to posting it here? I have not attempted to package in another version yet. I was worried that may cause even more issues. I obtained the engine from epic games launcher

Thanks

Upload your logs as a .txt file. Please try to package a template from the editor on 4.9.2 as well, and provide me with those logs as well. Let me know which one is which.

Thanks!

So I packaged the First Person Shooter template successfully. I have attached both the template package log and the crash log of my original scene.

Thank you

Do you have the packaging logs from your original project that crashed? Those should be in your saved folder listed as logs. I'd like to compare them to your successful logs, as well as your crashed logs you've provided.

Do you have complete reproduction steps that you can provide?

Thanks!

MJStabates,

It looks as though you're having trouble with the Media Textures that you have within your project. Can you please explain the exact way that you're setting it up? Are you setting it up as a movie in the beginning of your game or a media player actually within your game?

Thanks!
