Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Saving Material and Shader Compiling very Slow or Crash

Hello ,

my Name is Dennis from Germany. I am working with the Unreal Engine 4 since a few month now.

On my actual Project i made a Landscape Material with some Material Layers.

The first problem i have , is that on every little change the shader starts to compile. Around 1400 shaders. Thats ok. If it is not finished till i change the next thing. And this can be very little things like moving a node around then it starts to add the next compile onto the actual still compiling one. So i have 2500 Shaders. And so on. Sometimes i have 20.000 Shaders or more to compile. I think if i change something the System had to start from the beginning and not to add the new compile onto the one from before.

The Second Problem i have , is that i try so save my Landscape Master Material and sometimes when i am lucky it takes 10 second but the most time it needs 10 minutes or more or the engine crashes.

Unreal Engine doesnt respond in this time. And nothing happens.

Does anyone have the same issues or some tips and tricks to fix that?

I hope someone can help and i hope someone can understand my english ;)
