How do I get Light Shafts/Beams in UE4?

So there Is an example of it in one of the example levels, but i can’t get it working in my level.
I placed a directional light and turned on light shafts but nothing happens.

I want to have light shafts similar to the ones in Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us.

Hi iPlay_Zombies,

I’m not actually sure what you are asking for. Are you wanting the Bokeh lens flare effect (this is found in the settings of post process volumes) or are you looking for a godray light effect. The godray would be a static mesh that you add to your level. I believe there is one in one of these in the Blueprint office sample or the Mobile Temple example. You simply place them in the level to get your desired result. Thank you!

Sorry, I’ve just made a video explaining what i’m trying to do.

I’m trying to get GodRays in my level. However the ones in the level disappear when you walk into them, but I am trying to get this effect going on > > >

Just enable light shafts in your dominant directional light and then add a little bit of fog. Then just play around with the settings a little bit ^^

I’ve followed these instructions myself without success. However, I didn’t try very hard. There is a working example of the bloom method in the Blueprint office sample you should check out.
