Question - Splitting Landscape Components + Fbx export for it?

How can i split components in landscape like udk? I cant find any tools for that in landscape editing.

  • Actually i want to split a section of landscape and export to 3ds max.

This is not currently available from the editor. Currently, you cannot export landscapes to 3Ds, though you can create landscapes or heightmaps from other programs and import them as needed. For more informaiton on landscapes, have a look here:

Right now, you can export a landscape selecting it and choosing File->Export Selected. It will be exported as an obj file.

There is only a little problem: you’ll have all components separated as single objects. You should merge them and weld vertex.

Sorry for such a late addition to thread, but while I can export fbx of terrain, its far too big at 768 mb to load in any modeling app. What I don’t grasp is why after I paste in via ctrl V, a copy of section of terrain as allowed, and its highlighted,why doesn’t the engine export that and not entire terrain,would it be hard if needed to alter sourcecode to allow that to be done ?
