Can't edit engine inputs while under version control

I recently started using version control to get a project together to work on with a few friends, but now I can’t edit the inputs in the project settings. When I click on other settings categories in the project settings I’m prompted to checkout the corresponding file, but when I click on inputs it just sits there and continuously says “Checking file state.” Is there a way to fix this or am I doing something wrong?

Oddly enough it seems that the file didn’t get created when I started the new project. I created an empty file and now I can edit the settings.

Might be because it was set to READ ONLY. Need to check out the CONFIG directory make your changes and then check back in…???
