steamVR main window lost focus

Hi,

We package our game into Win64 executable. Running on Win8 or Win10.
When it launches, we have a “fullscreen” command executed for switch to HMD, but for the focus is not on the main window(Switch to VRCompositor?), there is correct game screen on HMD and head rotation also works, but the sound system and Keyboard Mouse input is not responding.
After ALT-TAB switch to the main window, the sound and keyboard mouse are enabled.
How can we do to maintain focus on the main window? We tried many ways, including “Set Input Mode Game Only”, “Set Focus to Game Viewport”, even write a BlueprintStaticLibrary to SetActiveWindow, all are not capable to change the focus back to the main window.

  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps in order to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide and code and/or screen shots of any blueprints that may be involved?
  4. If not, could you provide the project or a sample project that reproduces this issue?

  1. Yes, it remains the issue in a new project.

  2. Create a new project, make sure SteamVR plugin is enabled, package the project. Execute the execution file. The focus will be lost when the game screen is ready.

  3. No blueprints is needed.

I was able to reproduce this issue on our end. I have written up a report (UE-29254) and I have submitted it to the developers for further consideration. I will provide updates with any pertinent information as it becomes available. Thank you for your time and information.

Hi,

For your information, we had a work around by using SteamVR’s playlist.
When adding the executable to SteamVR’s playlist, the sound system will be on focus right after start. But it is still need to be fixed in the standalone situation.

I’m also having this issue. I’m on 4.15. Any solutions to this problem?
