UE-4.10.2 install from launcher fails - R-1638

I have source builds on my machine that work. However, I wanted to test a plugin with the launcher installed version of the engine for another user. When it tries to install 4.10.2 it fails with error R-1368. Here is the log file from the prerequisites installer:

This worked for me:

  1. Uninstall UE4 Prerequisites
  2. Uninstall VC++ 2015 Redistributable x86 and x64
  3. Open regedit and search for keys containing “2890ae6b-90e9-448d-b3e6-97e43c21e2fd” and delete them.
  4. Install UE4
  5. Install the latest VC++ 2015 Redistributable x86 and x64

Hi iktomi. We aren’t currently aware of an R-1368 installation error. Are you referring to R-1638 instead?

Yes indeed I meant R-1638

Hello!

We have recently updated the launcher to address some of the prerequisite issues. Please see the accepted answer to this post for the steps to follow.

If this does not resolve the issue, please post back and keep us updated.
