I can’t install Unreal Engine 4.10.2. Error code: R-1638. I deleted Mincrosoft Visial C ++ 2015. I reinstalled the launcher. Nothing happens.

“Microsoft Visual Studio” has nothing to do with “Unreal Engine 4”. What do you mean by “Nothing happens.” Douse the installation launcher not display at all?

He uninstalled it because of these instructions:

I am running into the same error.

Hi according to responses to another question relating to this one, these are some of the recommended steps someone else gave:

  • uninstall the VS 2015 C++
    redistributable x64 and x86,

  • ran the prerequisites directly
    through the exe ( as suggested by
    Alters)

  • ran Epic Games Launcher which
    successfully installed 4.10

  • finally reinstalled VS 2015 update1
    to reinstall the C++ common
    components.

Hello Max1511,

Please try the following:

  1. Manually download and install DirectX from here: Link
  2. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86). On 64bit Windows also install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)
  3. Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012. On 32bit Windows install vcredist_x86.exe. On 64bit Windows install both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe.
  4. Install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. On 32bit Windows install vcredist_x86.exe. On 64bit Windows install both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe.

Start the launcher and attempt to download the engine version of your choice.

If this does not resolve the issue, please reply back.
