Problems with Gear VR unreal engine 4.83 build

I have been trying for sometime know to get a build for Gear VR working.

I have been trying everything but can’t get it to work. I did a test and downloaded tappy chicken
and was able to export it to an apk that ran in my samsung note 4 phone.

When I do a gear vr export from unreal engine 4.83 I use blueprints and I try to run it on my device
I put on my gear and see a distorted screen of the unreal engine logo with some download buttons on it
it freezes and doesn’t take me anywhere.

One thing i noticed is that in the config section where you provide the path for the android sdk, adk ect…
It doesn’t give me an option to set the path to the java jdk folder. In the screen shots I see online they include the java jdk option. I am not sure why my version doesn’t ask me to provide the path for java jdk.

Has anyone heard of an issue of people getting a mono screen of just the unreal logo distorted?

I checked everything in my settings including the oculus sig file. When i convert to a zip file and open
it the oculus sig is included and in the correct folder.

I would love to figure this out and any tips people might have would be huge.
