Opening LevelSequence crashes 4.10/4.11

Hi!

I have a project made in 4.10 and transferred to 4.11.
When I try to open an existing LevelSequence in Sequencer the engine crashes.
In fact this happens on both 4.10 and 4.11. It used to work well before, and crash occasionally but not every time.

GTX970
Windows 8.1

Ideas how I can fix this?
I have a lot of stuff in that particular LevelSequence, and it would take me ages to redo it.

Hi Animajor -

I am running some tests here, but it looks to be a specific setup issue you have in your Sequencer that has caused the crash. I am fairly certain I can reproduce this if I replicate the circumstances you have setup in your project. Is there any way you can share the level sequencer file in a very simple sample project that also crashes for you? I was able to get a consistent crash with a section of your sequencer file. It looks to be related to your audio setup in sequencer, but I don’t have specifics as to why yet. I have entered the bug as UE-26768 and will keep you informed as we investigate a solution.

Are you able to access source and recompile yourself? If so, there’s a temporary workaround you can do in AudioCompress.cpp. Change the line:

check(Wave->DecompressionType == DTYPE_Native || Wave->DecompressionType == DTYPE_Procedural);

to:

check(Wave->DecompressionType == DTYPE_Native || Wave->DecompressionType == DTYPE_Procedural || Wave->DecompressionType == DTYPE_Setup);

I’m not familiar with recompiling source yet. I’ll give it a go, though!
