[Feature Request] [VR] Separate Camera for Non-HMD Preview

Hi all,

Is there anyway we could get more control over the 2d preview window when using an HMD? Right now it seems to show different behaviour depending on the HMD (Oculus does a stereo distorted mirror, HTC Vive does a undisorted mono mirror).

However, I’d like to actually have another, entirely separate, camera that renders that view. This would need to be optional (as there’s obvious performance overhead of rendering the world a 3rd time), but would eliminate the only real advantage Unity has over UE4 for VR right now.

Being able to pick a non-first-person camera viewpoint would make it easier to make ‘social’ VR games where the audience has some sort of view that isn’t just what the user sees. This would also make creating trailers and other content easier as you could then pick a resolution/aspect ratio that wasn’t tied to the HMD output.

Thanks!
