Will Unreal accept DTED/JP2 file format?

I am working on a side project and I don’t have DTED files to test with right now, but will Unreal be able to use DTED or JP2 files with real world coordinates and lay them in a real world coordinate system, and will DTED files create appropriate geometry for the deformations, or will I have to create height maps in place of DTEDs to get some elevation? Opposed to Presagis Terra Vista, which can do those file formats and coordinate system but using a legacy texturing system. We (Combat Studies Institute) are switching to Unreal from Terra Vista simply because I (the technician) can get into more detail with Unreal and the military wants to switch to create virtual databases much faster.
