Move arrows disappeared, scale arrows changed

When I press W, there is no arrows. However, I can still move the object by moving the mouse on the invisible arrows.

Rotate arrows are still here.

Scale arrows are like this:

This is same in all objects. I tried to move the project to SunTemple to fix the problem, this fixed the problem for a few hours, then I started to experience the same problem again.

Hi SalihBalkan,

I am not able to reproduce this in UE4.10.3. Please try this in one of our blank templates and see if you can reproduce it there. Also, please provide repro steps so I can reproduce this as close to your circumstances as possible.

For example:

  1. Open blank third person project
  2. Select any static mesh in the viewport
  3. Select Transform
  4. Result: transform widget is missing

Thanks,

.

Hi ,
I was able to reproduce this by following these steps:

  1. Open a project (I used Sun Temple)

  2. Set preview rendering level to Android

  3. Select a mesh or bsp

Here’s a screenshot of Sun Temple open in 4.10.4. The shaders are still compiling, but as you can see, the arrows are there and functioning. The transform and scale tools look and work as usual as well. Please note, that the Sun Temple is compatible with 4.7 officially and not guaranteed to work with later versions.

That said, are you having this problem with other levels in UE4.10… like Third Person Blueprint?

I am using 4.10.3 and I also can see arrows before compilation is done. After compilation, arrows disappeared. I get same result on my own level which is based on FPS Template. I didn’t test on any other project. I will try it on 4.10.4 too.

After compilation, arrows were still present and functional on this machine -same as first person shooter. Let me know if updating the editor to 4.10.4 does not fix the issue. If it does not, please let me know if you are on a PC or Mac and post your system specs -thanks.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the same issue on a clean Sun Temple project. I think a magic step that I do causes this issue and I couldn’t detect it yet. Same on both 4.10.3 and 4.10.4. You can download this project file to reproduce the issue on your end, this is a buggy one based on Sun Temple but changed a lot:

Hi SalihBalkan,

I downloaded and opened the version of the Sun Temple project you sent, but was still not able to reproduce the issue -translation widget was still present and functional. However, there were a number of errors opening the file so this leads me to believe this is not a bug with the engine.

If you can provide steps where we can reproduce the issue, we will re-examine this and file a bug report if necessary.

Thanks for the feedback,

.

Greetings SalihBalkan,

I had exactly the same problem in HTML5 Preview Mode.

Verifying Unreal Engine in Epic Game Launcher solved this problem.

This helped! Thank you very much!

I had it happen to me as well.

I found other answers that mentioned snapping to grid; that didn’t help.

I started clicking on everything  and found right after I clicked on ‘camera speed’ suddenly the arrows started showing up.

I also had tried exiting out of the editor and loading a new project, but the editor visibility settings must have been persisted as I still had the same problem.
