Do I need to Pan and UV scale BSP faces individually?

Hi CJbear42,

I tested your workflow on my machine and it seems to work just fine. Could you try testing it on a couple different maps to see if it is persistent throughout or just isolated to the map you are working in?

Thanks, TJ

Hey folks,

I’m having an issue with aligning my materials on BSP objects, and I’m not sure if it’s an intentional feature or not.

I need to pan and change the UV scale for multiple materials on one BSP object. For some reason I have to deselect the BSP object and select the faces indiviually before I can change these settings.

So basically I have to select a face, change the UV scale, deselect, re-select that face to use the Pan function, deselect and then repeat this for every face on the BSP object.

What gives?

Thanks for any advice

Texture panning and scaling operate on all selected surfaces. You can multi-select surfaces by Ctrl-Left-Clicking on them. Then you should be able to do as many pan and scale operations as you like. Also see the “Alignment” button in the Details panel (with BSP surfaces selected) for some potentially more convenient tools for alignment.

Surfaces and objects are independently selectable. Selecting just a BSP brush (for example, by clicking on it in the scene outliner) doesn’t select its surfaces. For that, use the “Select” button pull-down in Details.

Hey TJ,

Thanks for the response, I realised it was because I was in geometry edit mode.
When I select a face in geometry edit mode the colour indication is a lot brighter, so I assumed that was the way you edited the surface properties

all good now

Cheers
