BSPs From Hidden Levels Are Included in Lighting Builds

Version
4.9.2 - 2707645

Description
I working on a game that uses level streaming to transition between brightly lit outdoor areas and dark indoor segments. Because the lighting situations are so vastly different, I completely hide indoor segments when building outdoor lighting and vice-versa. However, when I build lighting, all BSP volumes get forcibly shown and receive the lighting from that build.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Make a streaming level with two sub levels.
  2. Add different lighting to each sub level.
  3. Hide one sub level.
  4. Build lighting

Hi ncurtis -

Can you let me know in what level are the BSP volumes placed? Are they in Sub-Level 1, Sub-Level 2, or the Persistent Level?

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

If you’re building the lighting for sub-level 1, and the BSPs are in sub-level 2 then you get the bug.

Hello ncurtis -

Thank you for the additional information. I was able to build a sample project and reproduced your results. I have entered a bug report as UE-27318 and will keep you informed as our engineers investigate the issue.
