Discrimination report

Hello Epic Games and Epic Community,

I’m writing this message here because this forum is a part of Epic Games Support.
Also, I’m writing this message here because of other clients or visitors that need to know who is Epic Games
and to be more beware.

I want to report a discrimination attempt made by an employee from Epic Games.

Also, I contacted the local police, police of internet from Romania and a lawyer.
These authorities have decided that I am right in this case and they suggested me to try by
all means possible to solve this case, because maybe this is just an incident or misunderstanding
caused by an employee of this company.
And if all the formalities will be completed without an agreement, these authorities will start this
criminal investigation with the following accusations: misuse of authority, discrimination and
instigating to illegal acts.

On Unreal Engine Seller Central > FAQ under “What about refunds?” is written: “The description, screenshots,
or video in the Marketplace don’t accurately reflect the content of the Marketplace item”.

I bought more than 25 item from UE4 Marketplace and I didn’t asked for a refund or I didn’t had received a refund.
Maybe if this has been my first or second purchase, I would thought that maybe I’m not right.
But it’s not the first purchase, it’s 27st purchase.
For example, I bought “Country Side” from here: Country Side in Environments - UE Marketplace
and I’m asking you, why I didn’t asked for a refund? And why I’m asking now? (Not for this item, for another item).
Honestly, I’m not trying to fool anyone. Why, Because I own over 25 bought items, not just one or two and that means
I’m really honestly, not a liar. And ultimately, why it’s so hard to respect a loyal customer with a refund?
It’s a crime? But more, I live in Europe and for me can be applyed a law that helps me regarding with this refund.

Here is the story of this issue:
I bought “Urban Construction Pack” from here: Urban Construction Pack in Environments - UE Marketplace
From description, screenshots and the video, I was convinced about this item is what I want and
that I will receive exactly what I saw. But, after I bought it and I downloaded it, I noticed few details that could not
be observed unless there is a demo version or if I just downloaded it as free from internet and test it before purchase.
I have given clear details to Reuben A. about I’m eligible for this refund. But, He / She has tried a luck,
maybe it will work. But not with me. I understand the 7 days until the money is back on my credit card,
but I didn’t knew that I will not receive this refund or I’ll be forced to resort to authorities in order to
snatch my money back from Epic Games for an item that I can’t use it, because I don’t need it.
This means no respect for a loyal customer and against morality. But, also, the violation of certain laws.

If this case will not be resolved, I will call the competent institutions to solve this case.
Also, this can result in take down Epic Games website, temporary until this case will be solved (2-4 weeks).
Then, getting money back and applying sanctions under the law. Then, take down website will be removed.
If Epic Games want to go through these events, continue in this illegal way and maybe this can be more worse.

So, now I invented “instant refund”.
How it works? Simply, Download desired item for free from internet, then test it and if you will be satisfied with
this item, delete it, and now go to EU4 Marketplace and buy the desired item. So, in this way you will avoid risking
not to receive refund or lose few days + 7 days for receiving money back on your credit card.

Reuben A. revieved my refund request and He / She gave me the final decision:
“We found that the evidence provided was not enough to warrant a refund. I apologize for any inconvenience.”.
He / She said: “We found that the evidence provided was not enough to warrant a refund.”
My reply for this is simply: “for you it’s not enough to warrant, because you will not work with this item.”.
He / She said: “I apologize for any inconvenience.”.
My reply for this is simply: “I don’t need your apologies, since your decision is not fair.”.

I warning you to not try to obstruct the right to opinion and free expression by deleting this message
from this forum, because this will result in more accusations. But, this action will be accepted only under
one condition: only if this case has been solved before or when the message has been deleted, not after.

Finally, I want to asking you:

  1. Who will compensate me for lost time, until this case is resolved?
  2. Who will compensate me for lost time in writing these messages?
  3. Who will compensate me for my denigration as a result of this disagreement?

We’ll look into it.

[EPIC] atypic, do you have any news? I want to inform you that I got an response from PayPal: “Epic Games International S.a.r.l has provided a response to the claim you filed against them …”. So, I think, I will not get this refund never and I will confirm tomorrow to these authorities to start this criminal investigation with the following accusations: misuse of authority, discrimination and instigating to illegal acts. Thank you in trying to save Epic Games reputation, but if it’s not possible, you’re not culpable, only Epic Games International S.a.r.l is culpable, because it’s a company with legal responsibility. Sorry for delay - I expect we’ll have an answer tomorrow.

Then I apologize too, because I have no patience. So, I will wait, but I have a bad feeling about this and looks like I just lost few more days and this case will not be resolved.

The investigation has concluded - Customer Service will follow-up today with a response to your initial inquiry to them.

This is a disgraceful and unprofessional way to try to get a refund.

Yes, you’re right. That I asked in the end of my message: “3. Who will compensate me for my denigration as a result of this disagreement?”?
But, I call this an procedure that in Romania is a normal thing, but maybe in your country is not.

This case is now closed!
And for all: It is useless to talk against me, because I lost 3-4 days. OK! I got my money back but, I will wait another 7 days for returning the money on my credit card, so this means more than 10 days, and I didn’t got anything extra for lost days. And this was an case, because in private, Epic didn’t responded me and before to decide to go to police of internet from Romania, I did this honest thing. So, from now, I will not reply to your messages to not escalate this thread to a bad thing. but after 25 purchases I don’t think I requested an unfair refund. - Thank you for your understanding!

I am glad that there is such a service that helps to solve problems of returns or uncomfortable interaction.
