Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Alienware M17 R3, will it run UE4?

Hello I was offered to trade my MacBook Pro 13" mid 2014 for an older Alienware m17 r3. Basically I want a laptop that will run UE4 smoothly for game development. I'm wondering if this Alienware would... Here are the specs of the Alienware :

i7 2670QM GTX 580 2.2 GHZ 8gb RAM, 1tb storage 80 ssd

Are these Specs too low to run ue4? Should I trade? Thanks

The recommended and minimum system requirements can be found in the documentation here. Given your specifications, you meet the recommended specs. That said, generally, you'll be able to run the engine even with older hardware, it's just that you might have a more unstable development experience.
