Group project game wont package?

Hey guys, working on a group project racing game at uni and when trying to package it always comes up failed.

RunUAT.bat ERROR: AutomationTool was unable to run successfully.
MainFrameActions: Packaging (Windows (64-bit)): BUILD FAILED
PackagingResults:Error: Error Unknown Error

This is the error that pops up at the end of the log.

Have heard that I need to compile and then recompile the source? Or get new source files in visual studio? I don’t really understand how to do that - I just installed that when prompted by UE4 and didn’t mess with it at all and so just getting failed by default.

We are using FMOD in the project but have marked it to package so I doubt its that. Thought I would add it just in case.

Please Upload a copy of the log so that we may be able to assist you

Joshiraptor,

Please upload the output error logs from the editor. Attach them as a .txt format. Please also provide additional information about your version of the engine. Are you on source or binary? Did you use all blueprints, code or a mixture of both? Provide as much information as you can.

Thanks!

Apologies for my slow reply but [Here is the attached error file][1]. Thanks for reading my post.

Does any of the computers being used have spaces or special characters in their name? Do you have Visual Studio installed if so, make sure it’s not the Community version. Are you on binary (Epic Games Launcher) or source (GitHub)?

Dont think there are any spaces, not sure on Vis Studio but its just the one ue4 prompted me to install. On binary too, thanks for the help!

Could you please verify that there aren’t any spaces OR special characters in your Windows username?

Please double check the version of Visual Studio. If I cannot get specific details, it’ll make it hard to resolve your issue.

Thanks!

yes the username has a space in it. 90% sure it wasn’t the community version also. I dont know what one UE4 prompts users to install by default

Try removing the space from the username if you’re able to. Once you’ve done that, could you please let me know whether or not the packaging process has worked?

Hey Joshiraptor,
