Maya ART tool not Exporting Animations Properly

I’ve attempted to start using the Maya ART Tool set that comes with UE4 to make some simple animations to get development going but I cannot seem to export even 1 successful animation. I have my animation made in Maya and ready to export. However regardless of how I export, either through Maya’s built in FBX export or using the ART exporter, it always exports a broken animation.
By broken I mean the only thing that is recorded is the first frame, and the root location. For example my running animation is just a freeze frame of my first pose while my character bounces up and down. Occasionally the FBX file just completely crashes UE4. I was thinking this could be a problem with Maya but if create a custom rig it works perfectly.
(I have no idea how to set up a really good Maya rig so I kinda need this plugin to start working)

Hir SirWesleyIV,

What version of Maya are you using and what version of the FBX exporter?

I was using FBX 2016, the same as my Maya version, and attempted to use 2014 / 2015 but got the same errors. I instead updated my engine version to 4.11 Preview and it works perfectly aside from a few smaller bugs. I suppose I’ll just have to use 4.11 Pre until the final release comes out.

I see you have listed 4.9 as the product version… I’ve tested this by creating a character, rig, etc with the AR_Tool in Maya 2015 using the 2014 version of the FBX exporter (as shown above.)

I was able to export from Maya 2015 and import into UE4.10 a custom character and animation without a hitch. Please try this again in UE4.10 and let us know if you continue to experience an issue.

Also, if you have not already, you may want to review the video tutorials from the creator of the tool itself, Jeremy Ernst, located here:
