How do I create a detailed landscape?

Hi, I am fairly new to using the Unreal Engine and I have been trying to level design for my new video game. Unfortunately, while I am trying to make a landscape, I am unable to make detailed changes to the landscape. What I mean by this is that when in the sculpting mode, if my brush size is too small, I am unable to make any changes to the landscape. None of the landscape moves at all. Along with this, I am unable to make anything but rolling hills. Is there a function that I am missing within landscape creation, or am I going to have to externally create an entirely new mesh if I want high detail in my level design? Any brush size below 1000 seems to be ignored.

Edit: I realize that the problem is that I did not have enough quads/detail in my landscape in order to add detail. This leads to a different question that I suppose I will ask here: How do I edit the UV mapping of my landscape so that my material does not repeat a million times? Thanks -
