Placed foliage - project crashed and now crashes on startup. Please help!

So I had the foliage tool selected and was trying to place a load of instanced shipping containers with it and forgot to change the amount placed, so I clicked and it must have tried to place about 100 on one spot and UE4 just froze. it all crashed and I sent the report, my pc wouldnt respond so I killed off the rest of UE4 in task manager.

It loaded weirdly fast and crashed on startup so I figured Id killed something that UE4 need in my pc’s temp memory so restarted my PC to get a fresh start but now it loads at the old speed but still crashes on finish load! I have a deadline tuesday so really need some help!

  • Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
  • What steps can I take to reproduce this error on my end?
  • Is it limited to one specific asset?
  • Can you post a copy of your dxdiag here so I can take a look?
