What are these weird shadows and how can I get rid of them?

Hello everyone!

I’m in the process of creating my first game and I’ve came across a weird issue that I can’t seem to fix.

I have placed several meshes around to start blocking my level out (going for a low poly style).

What are these weird and out of place looking shadows? How can I get rid of them?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks very much,

Are you using baked lighting? It could be that the resolution of the shadow maps is too low, so the shadows are bleeding out from under various objects.

You also get these if you haven’t yet baked your lighting.

Could you post some more pictures and maybe show where the light is coming from? It’s hard to get a read on what’s going on in these pictures. It almost looks like an unlit scene. I’m not sure what you want it to look like vs. how it looks now.

It was fixed eventually by tweaking the Cascading shadow distance, adding a skylight to the scene and increasing the dynamic shadow range.

It was over a year ago at this point but tweaking these settings in the stationary lights fixed it.
