If i use the epic games environment packs in my work and enter a tournament would it count as breaking the copyright act?

I am going to enter a tournament and i was wondering.I have used the epic games environment packs so does it count as copyright if i use unreal engine and use those packs and enter the tournament.

Depends on the rules of the tournament, some tournaments allow content provided, others demand you make everything yourself.

Which tournament are we talking about?

its a tornament called YGD BAFTA tornament.

Well, here are the rules: http://ygd.bafta.org/sites/default/files/uploads/YGD-Terms%20-Conditions-2016-FINAL-v1.pdf
It doesnt say you cant use any pre-made/purchased/free content… but it has this (very weird) rule:

“Game files must be no larger than 30MB – BAFTA will not accept files any larger.”

And thats imho something @epic should look at, and contact bafta to say how silly that rule is.

I totally agree here with luos. A decent material built in material editor with a couple textures can come quite close 20-30 MB easy. So you wouldn’t be able to make nice materials unless you use substance files which are very small. Most other assets like models a smaller but that just means you can make a good game but the materials can’t look good?

Nahh, just packaging an empty ue4 project (close to) exceeds that limit
