Run on server event fires on client

IsServer and IsDedicatedServer both do the same thing. Using 4.10.4

This engine is just getting worse with every retarded update. After Tencent bought half of Epic, nothing good or useful has been developed. Slowly but surely the engine is losing functionality. Now RPCs are even bugged. Great that we can use a broken engine in VR soon though right? Cause thats a higher priority. Ignore the hundreds of current bugs.

This is an actor placed in the level (So its owned by the server), when a client picks it up it changes ownership to that clients Pawn.

Hello Stunt Thumper,

I ran a few tests and was not able to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any other blueprints that may be involved?
  1. No
  2. Blueprint is several days of work
  3. Im under an NDA and dont really care about helping to debug Epic’s engine, Mainly because its always just ends in a bug report and were forced to fix it in house anyways because bug fixes from epic take months/years sometimes.

Hello Stunt Thumper,

I noticed that you mentioned that you have implemented your own fixes in house. Have any of these fixes dealt networking functionality? Also, have you updated this same project from older versions of the engine? If so, could you provide the upgrading process as well as the versions that were used?

What I mean by upgrading process: Did you clone and convert in place, covert in place only, or did you open a copy when upgrading?

We have never modified networking / replication engine code. If we ever make a fix we mark it, because we also have to merge Granite and Wise engine edits. We use the source build from Git and I cant remember what engine we started with. The project is almost 2 years old now. Dont worry about it Rudy, there isn’t really a way to debug this on ur end, and i cant give u the project. I just wanted to point out that there is a bug somewhere. The bug is still present with our engine, and fresh Git engine.

The F’d blueprint has been recreated in 4.10.4
