Why is Unreal engine crashing during launch

I have all the requirments on my PC for UE4, but when I try to launch the program, it stops at 18% and just crashes.

It just has the crash report and says:

MachineId:DF7F16534587E2B37136698906A3E458
EpicAccountId:aaa362044c3f409f850dc8a0b829e41c

You do not have any debugging symbols required to display the callstack for this crash.

Hello,

  • Could you please provide your dxdiag?
  • Have you tried verifying your engine?
  • Does this occur every time you launch the engine, or only in a certain project?

Is this the dxdiag? :

Not sure what you mean by verifying.

And yeah. Every time i try to launch it, it just crashes when it reaches 18%

To verify your engine, go to your launcher, specifically the Library tab. You should see the Launch button underneath the engine version that you are using. Click the arrow to the right of the launch button and select Verify.

Are your graphics card drivers up-to-date?

Do you happen to have any antivirus software that could be interfering with the engine?

It just only says to launch the game when i click the arrow.

It’s a custom PC, so the card is brand new.

I use Norton. Unsure if that would have an effect.

I think it may be that part of my PC is faulty. Which is a shame since the parts were really expensive. :frowning:

Definitely double-check the Nvidia website to ensure that you are using the latest drivers, as it is important to keep them up-to-date.

You could try temporarily disabling Norton to see if this was interfering with opening your project.

Let me know if updating your drivers or disabling your antivirus temporarily fixes this issue.
