Lagging Video in UMG
I find the video system in Unreal 4 to be a bit strange. Currently I have a video converted into a media texture, which is converted into a media material, which gets a cue to play at a certain pivotal point in the game. The sound doesn't work, so I cue that separately on the same frame.
This climax is extremely important to the game. Unfortunately, although my implementation works, it's unpredictable. Sometimes players will encounter the video and it will lag for a second before playing! Often the sound will play, followed by black, followed by the video hastily catching up to where it should be.
What is the BEST way to play pre-rendered videos inside Unreal 4 in UMG?
Let me know if I can do more to explain what is going on... I'm probably not communicating this very well!
