Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

making fire embers interact with player

Hi,

I'm trying to make embers of a fire particle swirl when he/she walks past or through the fire (and maybe even the flames). I took a look at global vector field and even Nvidia turbulence to achieve this effect, but I don't really know what the best solution would be.

1 - Nvidia Turbulence: I have to integrate Turbulence to the Unreal project and I don't think this will be a good idea since it's quite heavy etc. 2 - Vector field: I was thinking of attaching a global vector field to the character that interacts with the gpu particles, but I don't really know what direction the vectors need to point to always have a nice effect (I have the feeling that the vector field needs to be different when walking forwar, backwards, left and right).

So any tips or guidance or thoughts are welcome :D thanks, Elias
