Pulling information from an actor within a socket (BP)

I’ve currently hit a bit of a brick wall and can’t for the life of me figure this out.

I’m trying to build a function that checks the string text of a specific variable within an actor within a component of a characterpawn BP.

I just can not get my head around how to approach this and wondering if anyone could offer some advice?

Using Blueprints btw.
