When I add components inside the construction script, place the actor in the map, select it and look under details I can’t see any of the added components yet they are clearly visible in the viewport (not select able). I would like to see, select and edit them in the map and under details.

Go into Editor Preferences->Blueprint Editor and uncheck Hide Construction Script Components in Detail View. That should allow you to see these components in the details view.
