Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Disabling LPV plugin crashes Editor after Restart

I set up a blank project, tweaking project settings then went to plugins to disable what platform/project doesn't require. After restarting Editor got this crash. So, can't load project and now I have to create a new one.

For whatever reason I got 3 consecutive crashes (clicked Ok on first one, then got 2 more same Error pop up messages).

That wasn't an issue with 4.10.4

Hi motorsep,

I was unable to reproduce this crash. Can you provide more specific steps like these I used to try and reproduce the issue:

  1. In UE4.11 preview 7 create a new blank project without Starter Content

  2. Choose File>Package Project>Supported Platforms

  3. Deselect all platforms except "Windows" (*IMPORTANT: list all platforms you have selected)

  4. Save Project

  5. Close Project

  6. Close Launcher

  7. Restart Launcher

  8. Launch Test project RESULT: No crash EXPECTED: Editor to crash upon launch of test project.

-Thanks,

Steve H.

I did better - recorded a video :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL9GA0Lglsk

So when I do all that, crash happens whether I have all platforms enabled or all disabled except Android (which is my target platform).

Addendum: After enabling the Light Propagation Volume per instructions on the following link, retried steps above:

https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/LightingAndShadows/LightPropagationVolumes/index.html#enablinglightpropagationvolumes

Still unable to reproduce crash.

Hey motorsep,

Thanks for providing video of this crash. With that clarification I was able to reproduce the crash on our end and have entered the following bug report: JIRA [UE-28675]. Once this issue has been addressed, we will notify you with an update to this post.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention and taking the extra time to record specific repro steps!

-Steve H.

Sure thing, no problem!

I just want to confirm 4.11p8 has the same issue.

This has been fixed in UE4.12.5. Let me know if you are still experiencing from UE4.12.5 on. -Thanks!
