New version of PhysX Visual Debugger crashes (ue4 4.10; pvd 3)

Hello,
It seems nvidia have released a new version of PVD, 3.0. You can download either 3.0 or 2.01 here:

2.01 works as ever, but when attempting to connect to 3.0, it crashes. UE4 continues to run fine, but windows 10 informs me that 'PVDNext has stopped responding". Is this a known issue?

repro:
Open the editor
Start PIE
open console
type command ‘pvd connect’

Hello , I’m currently looking into if we have support or any known issues with this thus far seeing as it is a newly released version, but could you give the 4.11 Preview a try to see if you see the same issues there?

Hi , thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I won’t have any time in the near future to try the preview build. But once 4.11 is released proper I will certainly give it a go.

I understand. If you can, please test this when 4.11 releases and reopen this question if the issue still occurs. As this version of the PhysX Visual Debugger was released after 4.10.4, it’s possible that there are compatibility issues as 4.10.4 doesn’t support the latest version of PhysX at the moment and it may be trying to use that. I’ll be marking this as resolved in the meantime.

Hi ,

I recently tested this with 4.12, and it appears to still be crashing.

Thanks,

Hello , I apologize for the delay but I just attempted to reproduce this in 4.12.5 with the 3.2016.04 version of the PhysX debugger and it seems to be working correctly for me. Just to ensure, is the the same one that you’re using?

We haven’t heard from you in a while, . Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, am I using the same version that you are? In the meantime, I’ll be marking this issue as resolved for tracking purposes.

My apologies . I’ve just tried with 3.2016.04, and it’s all working fine. The crash still happens with 3.2016.03 though.

Thanks again,

I am using UE 4.15 and 3.2016.04 pvd and it crashes for me.
