Use complex collision as simple, sim physics. No collision

When a static mesh is using complex collision as simple and simulate physics is turned on, the mesh does not collide with anything except line trace. And sometimes it crashes when there is something attach to it that is moving.

Hi Kurosu143,

This is by design. Look at the response by James Golding here for a more in depth explanation.

I also go into detail in the accepted answer on that post for how to create your own collision inside of the Static Mesh Editor.

Cheers,

Honestly this is quite inconvenient. I imported a separate mesh specifically for the purpose of acting as a collision mesh for a hero asset, as I wanted to be able to easily reuse this collision for several cosmetic meshes (I knew beforehand that I would have several cosmetic meshes that would have roughly the same silhouette).

Now I have to do another roundtrip to my DCC just to add an identical simplified collision.
