Terrain Texture Disappearing

Hey,

I’m having a problem with some of my grids of my terrain mesh losing all of it’s texture when I try and apply certain textures to them when I have already textured them with other textures that are set up exactly the same way.

So, here on the right I have started to paint a gravel texture:

But when I try and paint into the grid slightly to the left of this, this happens:

As you can see I have already layered textured in the grid that’s losing everything, and this gravel texture is set up exactly the same, the textures have compiled and all that. So I’m confused as to why this is happening so any advice would be great.

Also, on a side note, does anyone have any good advice on how to blend the textures on your terrain well so that it looks natural?

On the pictures above, as you can see, the gravel texture is fairly blocky as if it follows the UVs of the terrain mesh, and I want it to look a lot more natural.

Also, how do I make it so the textures don’t just overlay each other so you get a faded version of each? I would like it to be more precise and natural looking. I have a dirt and moss texture ready to apply to try and help the blended but if it’s just going to be faded over another texture instead of transitioning between two other textures then that isn’t the effect I want to have.

However I don’t want to experiment too much while I am having the first problem in the post, so that is the priority. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.
