Hello Asusralis,

For the new issue that seems unrelated, we ask that you create a new AnswerHub post. This is done so that if other users are experiencing a similar issue, they can track it easier. In regards to the crash pertaining to this post, would you mind taking a look at our How to Report a Bug sticky on the forums to better familiarize yourself with the crash/bug reporting process?

This will give you all the necessary instructions for writing up a bug report so we can quickly get all the required information from you and begin troubleshooting efficiently. The one thing we will definitely need is your ‘dxdiag’ so I can have a look at your specs.

Let me know if you have further questions and I will be happy to assist you.

Thank you,

Ok, I reformatted my post. Sorry!

No need to apologize, but I appreciate your edits and will begin testing soon

So I ran some tests on two different machines in versions 4.10.4 and 4.11 to see the comparisons between the two different builds when sculpting the landscape. I did not find much in the way of the editor actually freezing or crashing as you are reporting.

I did see small hitches when sculpting the landscape, but this is due to the fact you are actually using the ‘Generate Landscape Real-time GI Data’ which states this option will utilize more memory and increase mesh build times.

Therefore, every time you sculpt and re-topologize the landscape, the editor needs to account for the real time data to be generated and applied to the landscape actor. I see similar hitches when modifying the Mesh Distance Field Resolution Scale of a Static Mesh and attempting to navigate around the editor while ‘Generate Mesh Distance Fields’ window is running.

If you are getting a crash, that is an issue that we can investigate and report, but a short hitch while sculpting is not a blocker or ‘showstopper’ when creating and working with your landscape. I would try disabling the ‘Generate Landscape Real-time Data’ setting to see if that helps reduce the hitching.

Thank you,
