TopDown template gear vr seg fault

I’m getting a segmentation fault when trying to run the unmodified Top Down template on an S7 Edge Gear VR. It happens immediately after starting the game.

Any ideas?

(Also, FPS example works, crash only happens on the TopDown example)

bump…

Hello ,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Was the top down template used a clean project?
  2. If not, could you try reproducing this issue in a clean project?
  3. If it’s possible, could you then provide a detailed list of steps (including any that may have been left out of your initial report) so that we can reproduce this issue on our end?
  4. What is the exact OS that is currently being run on the device?
  5. Could you provide the logs from the device for when it crashes?
  6. Are you launching or packaging out?

Please Note: You should not bump threads more than once every 4 days and when you do bump a thread please only do so when you have additional/ helpful information.

Yup, totally clean project. I did select mobile/scalable 2d/3d and also no starter content. To reproduce, simply package it for gear vr, run the install.bat file and run it on the device. Crashes immediately.

To run, you first put the device into gear vr developer mode, then just launch the app.

Hello ,

I was not able to reproduce this issue on our end. Could you make sure that you have the correct OSIG file in the correct file path?

yup, sure do. Like I said, only an issue with the top-down template example. FPS example works fine.

Hello ,

Could you try removing your saved, intermediate, and config folders and let me know if that makes any difference? Could you also go through your plugins and let me know about any changes that you have made?

Hello ,

We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.

Thank you.
