Editor interface and viewport lag

I’ve been experience a lot of interface lag inside the editor using UE 4.10.3 and 4.10.4. The editor will do things like freeze while I’m facing a certain direction (I can still turn the camera but it will not update the viewport until I am not facing that direction anymore), highlighting objects in the Editor will lag the UI such that it does not update but I am still able to perform actions that are not shown.

I’m having trouble pinpointing what is causing the issue but I have been running SpeedFan when using UE4. It appears that whenever this lag occurs, one of the cores of my processor is completely overloaded (100%) and overheating while the other cores remain stable.

There seems to be certain conditions which will cause the error to occur more often, such as pointing the camera into vast empty spaces where it has to draw very far (such as looking out into the sky sphere), scenes which involve tiling textures (I have since removed 99% of my textures and replaced with flat colors, still occurs sometimes), scenes with several lights (skylight, directional, 3-5 point lights), scenes with lots of actors (nothing crazy, maybe 100 total), or if I have blueprints open on my 2nd monitor.

Turning off all post processing effects in the editor helps with this, but does not resolve the issue completely. Baking the lighting in unbuilt scenes helps as well, but still every 5-10 minutes I get horrendous lag, check SpeedFan, and see one of the cores is at 100% and overheating.

I have tested my project on another computer which uses an i5 5820K and the error does not occur, which suggests it is my computer, but I do not have problems in a brand new empty project, which then makes me think it must be something in the project, but again I do not have this issue with the same project on other computers. I’m very confused.

My processor is an Intel i7 6700K, GPU is Sapphire R9 Fury, with 16GB RAM, running Windows 7. Based on the processor overheating, I want to think it is a processor issue, but is this normal for an i7 6700K, is it not powerful enough for Unreal? Or is my processor defective? I used to run Unreal 4.8 on a computer that was 6 years old and had no problems. Seems crazy to me an i7 would not be fast enough.

Included my DxDiag.txt attached. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you!
