Exporting mesh based particle from 3DS MAX

Hi,
I am using 3DS MAX to create mesh base particle system (animated), and I want to export it to UE4 but i dont know how to setup and use this exported .EXR file, i tried to find some answers on the internet but no chance there.
Could someone tell me how to do that ?

Thank you for your time

Heyhey FKK,

Keep in mind that there is a limit to the amount of vertices and frames you can animate with the .EXR.

All information you need, tutorials, guides can be found here:

(2nd link is probably more valueble for you, but id suggest you check em both out)

Hi, I can´t use Vertex animation script tool because its not vertex based animation, its particle animation,
or is there same way around because I don’t know if I am right

After i tried your advice i got stuck at this error

Oh, I thought you wanted to use an animated mesh as part of a particle related effect.

Unless you convert your 3dsmax particle to an animated mesh, you wont be able to get the file into ue4. (afaik)

I figured out that I could use this meshes in ue4 as mesh data in particle system, so I managed to recreate (hardly, need more time to be perfect) this animation in ue4.

If english is not your first language, it is really important to explain and tell everything about your problem, because if you dont, its a lot of guesswork for us.

You can just use the mesh itself, (NOT the 3dsmax emitter) and apply it in cascade.

How to: Mesh based particle for UE4 part 4 - The Particle - YouTube < that shows you how to import a mesh inside ue4’s cascade.

Hi,
like you said, English is not my first language.
I am sorry for some missunderstandings which you encountered.
I created my particle system inside ue4 with mesh data and its working so thank you.
When i was creating this post i wrote down all the information (which i thought that might be usefull). Next time i will try to be more specific with my problem, thank you for your time.

no worries, keep up the work
