Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Turn off auto compile shaders

This has probably been asked before, but I'm asking as it's becoming a issue for me.

Is there a way to disable/turn off auto compile shader?

The reason being I was making changes to a landscape material/shader, specifically the material functions/layers within it main shader. As soon as I made a change to one: Compiling Shaders, I then have to wait for that to finish to change the next and wait for that to compile... etc until I come to saving the main the shader and then wait for that one, it would at that point I would want to compile the shaders and only wait once rather than multiple times.

This slows down my progress and my PC at the same time.

Thanks

Yea this has become such an issue for me. Hope there is a fix. I don't really understand why but I'm pretty sure there is a reason why there hasn't been an implementation of this feature. It'd be nice to get an explanation of.

Automatic shaders compilation is great if you work on high-end PC. Otherwise it turns into hell... I made editor modification for myself, you can pause automatic compilation and start it manually:

You have to change source files of an engine and recompile editor to use it.

Yeah I found a way to make it so compileing shaders doesn't take all the CPU cores (may have even been you who suggested it on the facebook group, name looks familiar).

However since building my new PC (it's a beast) it's not an issue.

Thanks tho.
