Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Basic animation for ceiling fan

I created a ceiling fan in 3DS max and exported to fbx into UE4. I would like to rotate the blades of the fan without moving the base.. I know how to rotate a full mesh with blueprints but not part of one. Do I have to export as 2 separate meshes and then try to line them back up in ue4 or is they're a simple way to differentiate the 2 pieces and keep them as one piece?

Product Version: UE 4.7

1 answer: sort voted first

I'm pretty sure it needs to be 2 static meshes. 1 for the fan blades and 1 for the base. A blueprint will rotate the fan blade. Similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRTxs1_zYxE
