Can't paint on a mesh

Hi, I am very new to UE4 and started reading the documentation. I am now reading the topic “Painting on Meshes”

Painting on Meshes

What I did was I put a Cube from the Meshes folder inside Starter Content folder in the Content Browser and tried to paint it. I chose the Paint Mode tab, then selected the Cube mesh and the mouse cursor changed (same as in the pic in the link) but I don’t see the red crosshair they mentioned that should appear.

Then I tried to paint the mesh but nothing’s happening. I also tried Shift-Left click to try to color it with using the Erase color but I can’t still paint it. Do I need to do something else?

UPDATE:

I saw in the Paint Mode an attibute View which can be set to Off, RGB, R, G, B, A. Its set to off by default, I changed it to RGB and I was able to paint the mesh. However, when I build and Play in Editor, the mesh does not reflect the color. And also, is this normal (the need to select RGB)? I ask because its not indicated in the document I linked.

You need to select the control button and LMB and drag over the meshes… but remember you can paint some meshes not all, enjoy !!
