Attaching a skeletal mesh rotates it

I’m trying to attach different objects in the hands of my character(on a bone). So far I’ve attached a lot of static meshes without any problems. But now I’d like to attach skeletal meshes as well. The attach works but for some reason it gets rotated every single time. Even if i turn everything else of and just attach the object it rotates it. Static meshes stay the way they were before being attached but skeletal meshes gets rotated. Has anyone experienced similar problems or know of any solution?
