Bug: Asset crashes editor

Yesterday I had no problem, but today when I tried opening the project, it crashed.
After deleting assets one at a time, it seems like it’s a single asset that’s causing the crash. Any time I try open it, open a level containing the asset, or even right click on it in the content browser, the editor crashes.

Below are my system specs, the last few lines of the crash report, and the project’s contents zip.

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Have you tried replacing the asset with a back up file that can be found in your saved folder?
  4. Did this issue happen after upgrading your project from an older version of the engine?
  5. Have you deleted any assets that may have been the parent of this asset?

3. I did try that but none of them worked.
4. No.
5. No. I think its parent class was Actor.

Unfortunately I can’t reproduce the issue from scratch on a new project. I’ve tried to remember what I did at the time, but I can’t get it to crash.

It will however still crash if I import the old asset into the new project so the problem is definitely with the 3DButton asset. I can only suggest you download it and see for yourself.

Could you provide the project that the asset was used in so that I could take a closer look at what’s going on?

After a few days I just started over - it never crossed my mind that I might need the entire project if I got a response here.

This will help give a better idea of how the asset got into a state that is causing your project to crash. Do you have any further information on how the asset was setup just before the issue occurred?
