Epic game launcher not downloading

hey i am new to this ue 4 world. after registering to UE i downloaded the epic game launcher and installed it. but surprisingly when i am launchign it,after few MBs of download progress (about 10%),its either gets stucked or reverse progressed. meaning its coming back to 8% from 10% ( 6 mb to 5.7 mb ). and another fact is the downloader not even using full bandwith of my internet connection.its too slow. My question is that is there any alterantive way of downloading the launcher ?

I am facing the exact same issue . I have tried so many times but nothing works . I have followed every step , it just wont download after a few mbs . After like 10 mbs it keeps jumping back and forth .

My isp is clean and i have no issues what so every downloading anything at all . This only happens with Epic Games Launcher download . Its a mess .

Will this ever be fixed ? I can only wait for Epic to fix this issue with a patch or something that doesn’t require all this tweaking from the user and doesn’t even work . I am sure many people are facing the same issue . Please fix it Epic .
Thanks

I’m having the same issue. I’ve went to help.epicgames.com … Still no solution…

HI Burkenastygaming,

If you cannot find a solution to your error, please use the “Email Us” button in the “Contact Us” sidebar for additional assistance.

This issue is sometimes caused by your router struggling with the number of connections due to too many downloads happening simultaneously. To work around this issue, try the following steps. As a note, this workaround may result in lower download speeds, but should allow your download to complete eventually.
Navigate to Computer> Local Disc (C:)> Users> [your username]> AppData> Local> EpicGamesLauncher> Saved> Config> Windows.
Note: The AppData folder is hidden by default. If you are unable to see it, you will need to change your settings so that you can. To do so:
In Windows Explorer, click Organize
Select Folder and search options
In the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives
Click Apply
Open the file named Engine.
Add the following lines to the end of the file:
[Portal.BuildPatch]
ChunkDownloads=3
Save the file.
Restart the launcher
Retry the download.
If you still have trouble, you can try setting ChunkDownloads, which represents the number of downloads that will run simultaneously, to 2 or 1.

[Portal.BuildPatch]
ChunkDownloads=3
