Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How do I share level blueprints between accounts?

In my household there are two people using UE4 to build a collaborative game but the issue we're running into is not being able to share level blueprints between our computers. Is there a way to do that or is one of us just going to have to get on the other computer and rebuild all of the blueprints?

What do you mean by "share"? If you have a versioning system setup (or you're just copying the files back and forth by hand), it should sync all files, and the blueprints are saved with the map, so they should get synced too.

We've done that then this happens:alt text

You might want to upload that at a higher resolution next time, it's very hard to read.

However what I can sort of read is not related to your level blueprint, instead it seems to indicate that a number of referenced assets are missing. When copying, make sure you copy the whole content folder to prevent missing assets.

I can't read the errors from your screenshot. Would you mind posting one with readable text?

That is essentially what it said. What doesn't make sense is when I open the map after that it doesn't throw any errors at all. And before opening that one I took the entire folder under documents and put it on my hard drive, so it wasn't just assets that I was grabbing.

I assume you checked the assets it listed as missing and they were there?

I did and it turns out that the assets it can't find were moved and that is a remnant of where they were. Is there a way to get rid of that sort of thing?

Well, I've had that problem before and haven't been able to solve it, so... Anyone?

Move the assets using the editor and it'll make sure the references are forwarded. However that doesn't help you much at this point. Instead you could manually update each asset to reference the new location.
